Paper by Olga is owned and operated by myself, and my husband Shane. I am the artist, designer and papermaker while Shane handles all other business activities. We currently work out of our home office in Tucson, Arizona. Making handmade paper was never a thought that crossed my mind when I was younger. I always dreamed of working with flowers and hoped to own a small flower shop that also sold unique stationery sets, etc. I have also always had a love for fashion; not designing clothes but putting materials and prints together to create my own looks. I received an Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising and never did anything with it, other than working for a department store for 8 years as a manager. I then got into the computer craze and became well informed and self educated with writing, setting up letters, using graphics and creating cards, etc. After working in the computer healthcare field for 10 years I was hit with chronic vertigo which pretty much took me out of my computer job. The idea of making handmade paper came to me after Shane proposed. I wanted unique invitations and thought I could make my own. I researched the internet and Shane bought me a papermaking kit and off I went. I created our wedding invitations and guestbook. From there I decided I could really get into doing this and offer a more reasonable price for brides-to-be, while designing unique and charming products. Not to mention have a job that I loved to do and could take any time off when my vertigo flares up. Since then, and with many trial recipes, Shane and I have refined our formula and our handmade paper is a one of a kind. All Paper by Olga designs are handmade by me! Our pulp formula includes all natural materials and once the paper is made, each invitation is adorned with exquisite ribbon colors in satin or organdy, natural raffia and whimsical items from brass charms to Live sand dollars and star fish. Your dreams and color choices bring your special event to life. I now have my Mom working with me daily and feel very blessed to be able to share each completed order with her. To make our website more personal to us we have named each item using names in our family.
