In 1977 two visionaries recognized the need for a small, solid state flasher unit for the ambulance industry. They developed a new industry standard - and Vanner was born. Two years later, they recognized another need in the demanding ambulance industry. For years, ambulance manufacturers used AC power inverters in their vehicles. The problem was that the output voltage on these devices would vary - not a kind environment for the evolving medical equipment of the day. Vanner developed a pulse width modulated inverter which greatly improved the output stability and once again became the industry standard. By the mid-1980s, Vanner began growing to the point of being listed in Inc. Magazines top 500 fastest growing U.S. companies. During this time, the Vanner VoltMaster battery equalizer was developed for the motorcoach and bus industry, once more making Vanner the forerunner in the industry by offering a solution to a power conversion problem. In 1988, B. Elliott PLC purchased Vanner and opened the door for new research and development opportunities. Since then, Vanner has developed many industry-leading products such as the innovative IT Industrial TruSine Sine-wave Inverter and the M2000 Battery Analyzer System.
